Wedding of Paul and Hayley at Tregenna Castle Hotel

The GazeboPaul and Hayley contacted me over the internet to inquire about my availability. They traveled from elsewhere in the country to spend their special day at St Ives and chose me after trawling through the available wedding photographers for St Ives. They love St Ives and often holiday there. This is a trend which is on the increase and many people marry in St Ives from out of the country. We planned their day over the telephone and I did not meet Hayley and Paul until the day. This is not a problem for me as we sussed each other out via the telephone conversations. Hayley was very happy with my style of photography and it was apparent I was compatible with them for their photographic needs. I took down their details and formed a plan.

Tregenna Castle, St IvesOn the day the weather was magnificent and they chose to conduct the ceremony on the lawn at the Gazebo. This is catered for at Tregenna and the weather crowned the day. Contingency plans had been made and the hotel caters for the poor weather also, so the wedding would have gone ahead inside had the weather turned out to be inclement.

It was an intimate wedding with only closest family attending as they to had to travel to be present. The day went without a hitch, with the wedding meal consisting of amongst other choices, pasties, scones and clotted cream.

It was a very special day for all concerned and went without a hitch.

naturally enough the couple honeymooned also at the hotel.

The Wedding CoupleThe images taken included reportage style, in that they were not staged and told the story of the day. there were also some formal images and also where the couple were given a brief and they acted in the most natural way for them, which I photographed.

Wedding ceremonies may take place at the Gazebo, as it is a requirement under English law that a wedding ceremony must take place at a permanent structure. The register can therefore undertake the ceremony and the wedding party sign the register all at the gazebo.

One thing to consider is that all concerned, including young children should dress for the sun and also wear suntan lotion, as a ceremony will last long enough in itself for participants to get sunburnt, let alone for the additional time taken for photographs, so wear plenty of sunscreen.
